Opis

Butter lamps are ritual implements for one’s shrine. Sold individually, often 1, 2,3,5, or 7 will be placed on a shrine, behind and between water bowls.  Clarified yak butter, or ghee is traditionally burned in the lamp, but vegetable or lamp oil is often used.  Lamps will require oil and wicks, or tea lights can also be used.

One of the eight sensory offerings, lamps act for the practitioner to remove ignorance. Traditionally, 108 butter lamps are lit for a loved one who has died. In temples and monasteries, hundreds of lamps may often be lit.
