Serenity Ridge Postpones Reopening Until Spring 2022

Serenity Ridge

It is with regret that Serenity Ridge Retreat Center has postponed reopening its in-person retreats with Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche until spring 2022.

Originally, the Winter Retreat on the Experiential Transmission of Zhang Zhung, Part 2, was planned to be both in person (for a limited number of 50 participants, with social distancing) and online via Zoom. But due to uncertainty caused by the pandemic and the latest news of the new variant, it has been decided to hold the Winter Retreat only online.

The five-year Experiential Transmission series is the centerpiece of Rinpoche’s dzogchen teachings. From December 26, 2021–January 1, 2022, Rinpoche will teach Part 2: Introducing the Nature of Mind on Zoom. The retreat is restricted to those who have already received the teachings for Part 1: Ngöndro teachings, either last December or from any previous cycle.

Serenity Ridge looks forward to welcoming people back in person for the Spring Retreat. Postponing the opening of Serenity Ridge has been a difficult decision for Serenity Ridge and Ligmincha. Since July, tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of person-hours have been invested to prepare and upgrade the retreat center. We look forward to welcoming friends and sangha members back for the unique experience of a retreat in person with Rinpoche in spring 2022. The topic of Spring Retreat, which will take place March 31–April 3, 2022, will be decided soon and posted on the website.
