Service Retreats

Serenity Ridge holds several Service Retreats throughout the year. These are opportunities to participate in group service projects and practice as well as earn credit toward a future retreat. All service retreats are listed in our schedule of events.

Participation in a service retreat earns a $12 credit for each hour of work, applied toward a future retreat. If you cannot attend a complete a service retreat, we are happy work with you to create to an Individual Service Retreat.

Most service retreats begin with group meditation, followed by breakfast.  There are six hours of work scheduled each day—primarily in the areas of housekeeping, painting and gardening and kitchen support—with a long break in the middle of the day. Lunch is served daily, and food ingredients will be provided to allow the service group to cook its own breakfast and dinner in the main kitchen. Dormitory accommodations are provided free of charge for all participants.

Service retreats are a great way to meet and spend time with other practitioners in sacred service. There is also ample time for your own practice, walks to the Rockfish River, swimming in our pool (seasonally) and more.
