An Act of Generosity

Bön is one of the world’s oldest religions precisely because it holds such powerful tools for personal transformation and the relief of suffering on an individual and a collective basis. Bön, especially in the way that Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche has translated it for western students, heals our relationships, teaches us how to generate compassion and cultivate joy. We become more resilient through practicing breath work, meditation, and reflecting on the meaning of the many other teachings. Far more valuable is the ability to see the world’s abundance in every moment and the generosity of spirit that abides in the heart. This is what the teachings can give. I invite you to consider the gifts that the teaching and our teachers, especially Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche have brought to you, and to the people you know and love.

And while Rinpoche and Ligmincha offer hundreds of hours of free teachings online, there is a deep value in participating in retreats, both online and in person. Unfortunately, the cost of attending retreats excludes many people who very much want to study and learn and practice. To expand access to retreats Ligmincha is creating a scholarship fund to provide financial support to students who need it, such as younger individuals, seniors and others on fixed incomes, and those in less wealthy countries than the United States. The fund will help to ensure that those who want to can attend our programs either online or in person no matter who or where they are!

About the Fund

Initially this will be an annual fund. Funds raised during a calendar year will be distributed in the following year to cover retreat expenses of individuals seeking assistance to attend Serenity Ridge or Ligmincha International events.

Over time, we hope to build on this program to create an endowment whose income will provide a long term resource for students in need of financial support.
