Upcoming Soul Retrieval Retreat at Chamma Ling Colorado

Ligmincha International

Chamma Ling Colorado in Crestone will offer a special retreat on Soul Retrieval (La Lu): Ancient Bön Practices to Restore and Heal, led by Geshe Denma Gyaltsen, resident lama of Ligmincha Texas, October 3–6.

The soul is composed of the five elements of earth, water, fire, air and space. These elements pervade all of life and are the essential components of our entire worldly existence. The shamanic rites of soul retrieval and life force retrieval are methods of calling on the essence of the elements—elemental spirits—to balance and heal the individual.

It is believed that a traumatic event or other shock can cause an individual to lose connection with the elements and become dispirited. Through ritual and meditation practice, one can bring back the positive qualities that are missing or reinforce qualities that are weakened in oneself or others.

This retreat is the second in a three-part series, but each of these retreats is a whole and complete teaching in itself and is open to all. The third retreat in the series, Life Ransom (Chi Lu) will be held in May 2020.
