Serenity Ridge Spring Retreat on Breath and Awareness Starts March 31

Join us March 31–April 3 in person at Serenity Ridge in Virginia, or online via Zoom, for Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche’s spring retreat. Rinpoche will be teaching on The Nine Winds: Exploring the Union of Breath and Awareness.

The winds (lung, prana or chi) are the essential energy underlying all of existence. In the chapter of the Bon Mother Tantra, “The Unceasing Sphere of Light,” nine winds describe the movements of the layers of consciousness from gross to subtle.

Serenity Ridge Postpones Reopening Until Spring 2022

It is with regret that Serenity Ridge Retreat Center has postponed reopening its in-person retreats with Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche until spring 2022.

Originally, the Winter Retreat on the Experiential Transmission of Zhang Zhung, Part 2, was planned to be both in person (for a limited number of 50 participants, with social distancing) and online via Zoom. But due to uncertainty caused by the pandemic and the latest news of the new variant, it has been decided to hold the Winter Retreat only online.

$15,000 Matching Grant for Serenity Ridge

Serenity Ridge is finally reopening after nearly two years away!  But reopening isn’t a matter of simply turning the lights on—it’s a different world after Covid-19 and we must ensure that all our friends and sangha members remain safe and secure.

With that in mind, a generous donor pledged up to $15,000 to help with our reopening costs through a dollar-for-dollar matching grant.  At this important time, your dollars can make all the difference. Every $1 you give results in $2 to pay for important building and safety improvements.

Winter Retreat: Experiential Transmission of Zhang Zhung, Part 4

The Experiential Transmission series, the centerpiece of Rinpoche’s dzogchen teachings, is presented each year at the Serenity Ridge winter retreat. This December, Part 4 of the five-year cycle of teachings focuses on overcoming obstacles to realizing the nature of mind.

You can attend the retreat in person at Serenity Ridge or online through Zoom. Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche encourages people to attend in person if possible, to create a more intimate time to connect with one another and with the teachings.
